The Clownfish is confirmed as the rebirth requirement fish by two independent sources: the developer launch stream ("I need one more clown fish to rebirth again") and a regular gameplay video ("now I have to recollect three clown fishes worth"). Its exact role in the rebirth recipe (count, tier scaling) is not published — early rebirths appear to ask for clownfish while later ones reference other species.
